Queenie & Wildblood
DJs Queen Josephine and Kate Wildblood have been glittering across the local soundscape for more years than even they’d like to admit to – over three decades in fact! As well as DJing at all the top Brighton venues throughout this time, they have also branched out into radio broadcasting; reviewing tunes & profiling DJs in Gscene Magazine productions; showcasing club history exhibitions; and producing re-edits of their no 1 love of right proper classic House and disco anthems.
They currently have a radio show on 1BTN every Wednesday and Friday providing a great platform to promote gigs, as well as presenting a unique mix of upfront promos, album tracks, disco wonders and vinyl classics. Over the years, they’ve perfected the often under-rated art of warming up an event before cranking up the tempo later on with an injection of modern disco-fuelled Jackin House.
The regal Queenie and Wildblood will be returning to The Tempest again this Summer for their regular Saturday early evening outdoor beach sunset slot. They’ll be performing at the well established and successful Horse Meat Disco events at Patterns, plus loads of Brighton Pride weekend gigs and further expanding their shows, curation and parties with Radio 1BTN. The ladies are also available for hire for private events and parties and can even provide their own decks and mixer equipment if required.
